Welcome to Hammersmith

Posted in Hammersmith

For many students coming to stay in London for the first time, location is key. You want to be near your university campus, but you are probably also hoping to find somewhere that will allow you to get out and enjoy the city during your free time.

Pure Hammersmith offers all of this. Situated in one of the most stylish corners of West London, there is plenty to do on your doorstep and enough transport links to make it easy to explore the rest of London at your leisure.

Hammersmith Entertainment

Hammersmith is perhaps most famous for its thriving theatre scene, with two of London’s most popular venues located at the heart of the area.

The Hammersmith Apollo regularly hosts the biggest names in music and comedy, and has a history of attracting top names stretching back many decades. Such is the popularity of the venue that many acts will either end their tour here or use it to film live shows for DVD releases.

If you prefer plays and theatrical performances, The Lyric is one of the best places in London to find new productions.

Our student accommodation in Hammersmith is actually built on the site of another famous venue, the Hammersmith Palais, which was once a key feature of London’s music scene.

Hammersmith Bars and Restaurants

If you’re looking for somewhere to enjoy a drink or a bite to eat, Hammersmith offers one of the most idyllic settings in London. Many pubs and restaurants are dotted along the banks of the Thames, with local favourites including the Black Lion, The Old Ship and The Dove.

Elsewhere, the presence of the two big theatres means there is a high demand for quality places to eat in the centre of Hammersmith, so there is certainly no shortage of options serving any type of cuisine you can think of.

Hammersmith Shopping

Hammersmith is home to two large shopping centres that between them should cater for all your retail needs.

Kings Mall is centrally located and houses the main station in and out of Hammersmith, while Broadway is just a short distance away. Both offer a mixture of high street names and designer boutiques and are open seven days a week.

Hammersmith Transport

Being able to travel around London easily is vital for any student, and Hammersmith has plenty of transport options. Four tube lines (Circle, Hammersmith & City, District and Piccadilly) are served by the area’s two stations and can take you to all corners of the city, while there are also dozens of bus routes available.

All in all, Hammersmith has just about everything you need, so why not have a look and see what rooms we have available?
