Visit Bankside Gallery

In between the newly opened Blackfriars South Station and the imposing Tate Modern you’ll find this lesser known gem of a gallery that has changing exhibitions of more traditional works. All the pieces on display are also for sale, which means you can pick up a piece of original artwork for yourself or a friend as an inspiring gift, as well as supporting local artists! The gallery is home to the Royal Watercolour Society and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and from the 4th of February is exhibiting the strange and beautiful works of the Society of Wood Engravers from the UK and Japan.

There are also talks and workshops going on throughout the year for budding artists –  including exercises in colour and tone and learning to apply egg tempera.
