It's always good when Halloween falls on a weekend, because it means your lectures, seminars and other uni work won't get in the way of all the frightful fun. This year it's going to be on a Saturday – so you can enjoy it all day if you want to. Here are three unusual events we reckon will be worth attending.
Chills in the Chapel
Where and when? Union Chapel (N1 2UN), Fri 30th & Sat 31st October
The Friday event is a showing of John Carpenter's 1981 dystopian classic Escape from New York, and the Saturday event is a marathon of Halloween films (II – VI). Tickets are £20 for each night, and it's certainly an unusual way to spend the evening, so why not head down?
On both the Friday and the Saturday there'll be an 'After Show Halloween Ball', where you can get your dance on until the early hours. If it sounds like fun to you, you can book your ticket on the Union Chapel website.
Haunted at the Medieval Banquet
Where and when? St Katherine Docks (E1W 1BP), Weds 28th – Sat 31st October
As you might have guessed, this one's all about food. The Medieval Banquet is open all year round, running many different seasonal events. Naturally, Halloween is a big occasion for them, so they'll be transforming the place into a real cobwebbed fright-fest for the five nights leading up to and including the 31st.
The evening will essentially entail you sitting down to a four-course meal (yes, four!) and having unlimited access to ale and wine throughout the evening – it's all included in your ticket.
If the thought of this has got your stomach growling (or should that be howling, considering the occasion?), you can buy your discounted Medieval Banquet tickets on the TimeOut London site.
WhichCraft Halloween Beer Festival
Where and when? Royal Victoria Patriotic Building (SW18 3SX), Weds 28th – Sat 31st October
Another pretty self-explanatory one, the cleverly-named WhichCraft fest could be an ideal solution if you want to do something a bit out of the ordinary – have you ever been to a Halloween-themed beer festival before? Here's your chance...
On the first two nights (the Wednesday and Thursday) you need tickets, which are £25 - £30, but on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it's only £4 if you book online or pay on the door! As always, we'd recommend pre-booking online if you can, as you don't want to be disappointed.
Enjoy your Halloween
Thankfully, there'll be (quite literally) hundreds of exciting events going on in London this Halloween – we've merely suggested three slightly different ones. We hope you have a scary Saturday, whatever you end up doing!
