Ravi Shankar, the world famous sitar player, is a patron of this institute of Indian arts and culture – the largest of its kind outside the Indian Sub-continent.
Its aim is to preserve and propagate an understanding an appreciation of India’s cultural offerings in the UK. The centre plays host to art exhibitions and performances of Indian music, dance and drama. There is also a wide variety of classes to be taken: you might never have mastered the recorder but what about the vina, mridangam or table instead?
If that doesn’t appeal then come for the Yoga classes, which promise to attune your body and mind. Perfect for getting your brain back in gear after a tight deadline.
